Falling Away

Silken waves move
white and gray
as moonlight cants down
falling away
Heavy, slow
pressure builds
afraid to move
to make a sound
don’t break it
this momentary dream
of kindness
Heat blooms
burns this flesh
sears this soul
breath on cheek
sharp with grain
Deep, strong
it coils
bursting inside
this breathless moment
please don’t make me
