When long, dark night of the soul
makes me stumble
you light my way
In times of trouble
your solace feeds my heart
When I doubt my worth
you give it back to me
and if I forget my life’s song
you sing it for me
until the melody infuses my soul
once and time again
There is no dark place
I have crawled to
driven by pain and fear
that your love can’t
coax me out again
And so, in fullness of time
when age has taken
my name from me
I know I will still
remember yours.
